An Entirely New Deck
To the untrained eye, the Rega Planar 3 looks very similar to the Planar 2. However, the Planar 3 offers a number of design improvements, including:
- Brand new RB330 tonearm with next to no friction.
- Rega’s own highly shielded phono cables with Nuetrik plugs.
- A thicker, more rigid glass platter.
- A 3mm bottom brace.
- Factory fitted with Rega’s Exact cartridge.
Tonearm
Designed using the latest 3D CAD & CAM technology, the RB330 is the culmination of more than 35 years of Rega’s tonearm design experience. Featuring a redesigned bearing housing, and the latest Rega tonearm tube made using intelligent redistribution of mass ensure this arm will exhibit fewer points of possible resonance. Extreme stability with almost friction free movement from the high precision bearing assemblies guarantees to gather more information from your vinyl than ever before.
Plinth
High gloss acrylic, laminated plinth, stiffer and vastly improved appearance, ergonomically positioned power switch. The Planar 3 is available in Gloss Black, Gloss White or Gloss Red.

Double braces
Improved thicker 3mm phenolic bottom brace and new metalised skin phenolic top brace.
Bearing Housing
Re-designed brass main hub central bearing, improved fit and construction reducing stress on the bearing itself.
Platter and Sub Platter
New float glass ‘Optiwhite’ polished rim 12mm – Improved accuracy in manufacture and stunning looks.
Re-designed sub platter, improved accuracy and improved stiffness.
Re-designed Feet
New improved feet to increase stability and reduce vibration transfer.
24V motor
Improved new motor control PCB with integration for the addition of Neo PSU for electronic speed change and improved advanced anti-vibration circuit (sold separately).
Cartridge Fitting
The Rega Planar 3 comes with the factory-fitted Exact MM cartridge. The Planar 3 is easily available without a cartridge by special order. Please contact us for more information.
