The MOON 461 is an analog power amplifier designed to amplify the signal from a preamplifier with absolute accuracy. As the most powerful model in the Compass Collection, it is engineered to deliver substantial output capability, low distortion, and stable performance across a wide range of loudspeaker loads, while preserving the signal integrity with transparency, dynamic expression, and composure under demanding conditions.
At the heart of the 461 is proprietary MOON Distortion-Cancelling Amplifier (MDCA) architecture, pioneered in the flagship North Collection. This advanced topology significantly reduces distortion and improves linearity, contributing to a highly faithful rendering of the source signal with exceptional clarity and accuracy.
Two proprietary MOON Hybrid Power (MHP) supply modules—one dedicated to each channel—provide a stable, low-noise, and high-current energy source to the amplifier. This dual-mono implementation improves channel separation, lowers crosstalk, and enhances current delivery, particularly into lower-impedance loads. A Stereo / Bridged Mono / Bi-Amping Mono mode switch expands installation flexibility and supports a wide range of loudspeaker configurations.
With its black chassis, bead-blasted aluminium cheeks (available in black or silver), and clean architectural lines, the MOON 461 combines robust engineering with the distinctive visual language of the Compass Collection.
