More than three decades later, the Talisman-R carries that philosophy forward. Its carefully proportioned cabinet, wood detailing and subtle floating appearance allow it to sit naturally within a contemporary living space, while its refined finishes offer a choice of understated elegance.

Behind the stylish exterior lies a thoroughly modern two-way loudspeaker design. The Talisman-R features a 27mm silk-dome tweeter paired with Ruark’s 17cm NS+ long-throw woofer, using a treated-fibre cone and a substantial two-layer copper voice coil.

The result is a speaker engineered to deliver a natural, detailed and engaging presentation across a wide range of music. With its impressive bass extension, refined high frequencies and carefully balanced presentation, the Talisman-R is designed to make everything from intimate acoustic recordings to large-scale orchestral performances feel involving and effortless.

Ruark has paid particular attention to controlling unwanted cabinet vibration. Priced at £1,499,  the Talisman-R incorporates a carefully engineered baffle and cabinet construction designed to minimise resonance and allow the drive units to perform at their best.

Internal bracing and acoustic damping help control unwanted energy within the cabinet, while the tuned bass-reflex design provides a powerful and controlled low-frequency performance.

Even the base has been carefully considered. A solid steel plinth provides additional mass and stability, with adjustable feet and carpet spikes supplied for different flooring types. The result is a distinctive floating visual effect that complements the speaker’s elegant proportions.
